The Best Christmas Gifts for Photographers in 2026
Just over a month until the clocks change, (if you’re reading anytime after 25th October then you might want to check your clocks!), Hallowe’en is only a few weeks away and many people are now starting to look forward to the festive season, the arrival of the big guy and eating mince pies (I have embargoed them until December, otherwise I get a bit giddy with them). Oh, and is that sound of Mariah Carey beginning to defrost that I hear in the distance?
Yes, I know it’s only the middle of September. I have been compiling this list for a couple of months and it was scheduled to go out mid-October, but a lot of people are already landing on the list from last year so I thought I would throw this out a whole lot earlier.
All of this means that our thoughts are starting to shift to Christmas shopping - and what to get for the photographer in your life!
In this blog I have curated some Christmas Gift Ideas for Photographers, and as usual I have put them into three categories, £0-£50, £25-100 and £100 pounds and over. I’ve also put a bigger list on my Amazon storefront.
So what do you buy for the photographer in your life? Or, what are you treating yourself to? I’ve done some research and have compiled this list of my top gifts for photographers 2026 so that you can navigate the photography gift shopping minefield effectively and get the reaction you hope for on Christmas Day.

£0 - £50
This is category I have the most fun finding ideas in. Unfortunately, there is a lot of stuff in this price range that isn’t great value for money, but there are also some real gems. I've done the hard work for you, so here’s what I have chosen in this price range:
1. Vintage 'We Sell Kodak Film' T-Shirt
This Kodak T-Shirt is a bit of a rogue choice for me as I normally prefer gadgets each time I write this blog, but this choice is one I am really happy with - it’s much cooler than some of the other photography clothes that are on the market. It comes in a a variety of colours (I like the black one, but most of my clothes are black!), but this looks pretty good in pink too and the retro logo is ace! 2. Liam Wong TO:KY:00
This is one of my favourite photo books. It’s the one that has been purchased the most after people have read my mini review of it! I like it because it appeals to both photographers and non-photographers because the images in it are so striking. It’s a bit of a left field for choice for someone who is a landscape photographer, but just take a look at some of the images inside and you’ll see why I rate this book so highly, stick it on the coffee table and it’s real talking point - this thing doesn’t deserve to live on a shelf.
BONUS ITEM! There is a second book by Liam Wong called After Dark - I have written about here. It’s about half way down the page. Currently on Amazon for £35.
3. SMALLRIG P96L RGB Video Light
I have two of these and I love them. They’re small, light, powerful and have good battery life. I have written a review of these, you can read it here. These Smallrig P96L Video Lights really pack a punch and has uses for photographers across a number of genres, but is going to be really well received by macro photographers, product photographers and anyone who likes shooting outside in low light or who needs to do any light painting.
4. UGREEN USB C HUB
This is a good stocking filler price item and is probably a top 5 purchase for me this year, just in terms of the expansion it has given me. There are a few versions available, if you just want data transfer then go for the non-powered version, but if you want it for fast charging then it’s worth spending the extra couple of quid for the powered version. I have the non-powered version, it’s got hard drives and devices and plugged into it and works a treat - it also looks pretty slick which is important for something that is going to be spending time sat on your desk!
5. Macro Extension Tubes
Macro photography can be a fun thing to have a go at, but true, macro capable lenses can be really expensive and if you’re not using them regularly or find that macro photography isn’t for you, then it can end up being a very expensive ornament. That’s where macro tubes come in. These are essentially spacers that move the rear element of your lens away from the camera’s sensor, allowing you to focus much more closely on objects that are closer to the front element than the lens would normally allow. This gives your lens some macro capability without the large outlay that comes with buying a new lens. Make sure you buy the correct ones for the camera your intended recipient has as they are all different, the ones I have linked below are for a Canon EF mount.
6. Apple Air Tags
This is definitely a contender for the least interesting item on the list, but I think they are one of the most useful things we can have as photographers. If you don’t know, these are small GPD type trackers that you can attach to your bag (or anything else you want to track!) so that you can locate it if you lose it, in the unfortunate situation that you have it stolen and you can even get an alert if you leave it behind - the last one has saved me when I have left the house to drive to a shoot on a couple of occasions when I have left it in the house (you’ll need to change the settings for this), saving me a lot of embarrassment. You can get a single one for £25 or buy packs of them if you want to spend a bit more. I would also recommend getting some holders for them so that you know where in your bag they are.
You will find 3rd party air tags on Amazon that claim to be Apple MiFi certified. I have not used any of these so I cannot speak to how good they are, but genuine Apple ones are excellent! The accessories don’t need to be Apple, I have some non-Apple key rings and they work just fine.
£50 - £100
1. Peak Design Slide Lite Camera Strap
This is one of my favourite things on this year’s list. I got one of these in the Black Friday sale last year, and it really is a game changer. I have written a review of this strap here, and any photographer is going to be really pleased to receive one of these, you just have the challenge of picking the right colour! It attached to the camera using an anchor system, which means it is easy to attach and remove, which is great in those situations where you need to get rid of the strap quickly and it takes second to reattach it when you’re done. These are a great buy - well made, great looking and a reliable piece of kit!
2. K&F Concept Magnetic Filter Ring Kit
This is one of my favourite things on this list, and something I hope someone gets for me! I have been using filters from K&F concept for most of the time I have been doing photography and really like them. Their filters are well built, work a treat and don’t break the bank. They don’t feel like they have been built to a price and they don’t perform like that either. These ones have a selection of ND filters from ND8 to ND1000 which will cover a variety of scenarios and there’s a smart looking case to keep them safe.
My advice with these is to buy a set which are bigger than you need and then pair them with a set of step-up rings so your one set of filters fits on multiple lenses without having to spend a load of money on multiple filter sizes.
3. SMALLRIG 72" Aluminum Camera Tripod
Not a tripod that I own, but one that I have borrowed previously and loved using. This a great travel tripod, it’s lightweight, sturdy and will support up to 15kg in weight. The centre section is completely detachable and will then function as a monopod for situations that demand a little more dynamic movement such as some spontaneous wildlife photography. The whole thing packs down really small so that it can be strapped on to most bags either onto the webbing, into a side pocket or into underslung straps. The small packed down size and light weight materials make this an ideal tripod for longer walks or travelling.
4. Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V3
This is something that comes up every year on this, and there’s a reason for that. It’s one of memos used pieces of kit, it’s never off my bag other than when I am moving it on to an another bag. It’s had a lot of use, has been out in all weathers and has been a trusty companion for many years. I have had to replace one of the bolts previously, but that was down to user error; this thing is bomb proof. Its also something that I trust to hold on to my camera, and that’s really important the your strapping an expensive piece of kit to it. One part of the clip attaches to your bag, the other part screws into the bottom of your camera via the tripod socket. When you need your hands free, you slide the camera into the clip and when you need it, it is the work of moments to grab your camera and start shooting. Anyone who is working outdoors as a photographer should have one of these.
5. Lowepro Tahoe 150 Backpack
This is the first camera bag I ever owned, and it is one that I still own and use. It’s small enough that it doesn’t take up a whole bunch of space in the car, but holds enough stuff that I don’t feel like I am going to be under equipped. The dividers in the middle can be adjusted, and it will just about hold a DSLR with a 70-200 lens on the front of it, a couple of lenses and there’s a small pouch at the top of the bag for holding things like filters, lens cloths and whatever else you might need. The side pockets are great for holding a small travel tripod and/or a bottle of water - there’s two of them so you won’t have to choose!

1. Canon SELPHY CP1500 Portable Photo Printer
I usually include something like an Instant camera on these lists, but I am moving away from reccomending these as the cost of film is exortionate, bordering on prohibitively expensive - you don’t get much change from £20 for a packet polaroid i-type film these days. That’s why the Canon Selphy Printer has made it on to the list. It produces decent enough images that you can either display or do whatever it is you do with them. On top of this, a full set of inks and 108 pieces of paper will only set you back around £35, compared to £28 for 16 photos on a Polaroid.
The Selphy printer will deliver you a print in around 30 seconds, straight from a smart phone and comes with some basic editing software. These are great, fun little bits of kit and something different for your photographic loved one!
2. Logitech MX Creative Console
This is one of my favourite purchases of the year so far, if you want to read a review of this amazing tool then click here and see what I had to say about it. In short, it’s a great piece of kit and what you get out of it, for me at least, far exceeds what you pay for it. The LogiTech MX Creative console will be a welcome addition to most editing workflows, the most difficult decision you have to make is which colour you would like to have it in.
3. Logitech MX Master Mouse
This is another offering from Logitech that has been a real game changer for me in my landscape photography workflow. So much so, that I felt compelled to write a blog entry about it after having used it for a while. You can read that here.
For Apple users, you will free them from constraints of the Magic Mouse that they weren’t even aware of, and best of all, they will be able to use this mouse at the same time they are charging it!
4. Wacom Intuos Pro Graphics Tablet
This is by far the most expensive thing on this list, but it’s one of the things I think that most photographers would like to have to speed up their workflow. Landscape photographers and commercial photographers are going to be really pleased to recieve something like this. Street photographers may not find as much use for this as they want tend to edit their images much less and in a different way, but for those who are shooting outside of the latter genre this is a piece of kit which will speed up edits, make them more accurate and potentially more creative; having this gives you flexibility that you don’t get with any mouse.
5. Landscape Photography Workshop
This one is a bit of a shameless plug, but it is (nearly) Christmas after all!
These are a great way for photographers to improve their own skills, regardless of their ability. Novices and beginners can learn to use their cameras and work on composition, develop their knowledge of the exposure triangle or work on specific areas of their craft, whilst more advanced photographers can benefit from speaking with other photographers who know the landscape and can benefit from the dicussion and working another photographer - some of the best lessons I have learned have been when I have been working with other photographers and these things have stayed with me and helped to improve my craft.

And of Course…
This list would not be complete without the annual inclusion of the lens mug. I have one of these and it’s great fun - every photographer should have one of these, even if it just sits on the shelf. In all fairness, they are useful items (I have actually used mine for its intended purpose) that work well, but they’re more moving fluids around the office or in the car rather than being taken anywhere adventurous!
